False Prophets
This 10-Minute play was awarded 1st Place at the S. Randolph Edmonds Playwriting Competition. Here is a short synopsis of the play:
"Damien White, a recently famous Baltimore Activist, is preparing himself for an business meeting that will get the first Starbucks location built in West Baltimore. His Chief Operating Officer, Phylicia Wade, reminds him of a prior engagement he has with a High School Student, Huey Knight, before to the Starbucks meeting. Huey initially visits Damien to interview him for a class paper but quickly begins challenging his ideological beliefs as it pertains to Damien's activism. Damien and Huey argue their contradicting worldviews until Huey convinces himself that the man he once believed was a hero is nothing but a fraud. Upon Huey's exit, Phylicia convinces Damien to heed Huey's advice and they head to the Starbucks meeting with a reframed perspective on their responsibility to the communities they serve."

Kujichagulia: A Peaceful Morning
Kujichagulia: A Peaceful Morning is a still-life inspired piece that celebrates the African spirit by combining traditions found in West and East Africa. The West African influence can be seen in the symbol at the center of the work. This Adinkra symbol known as 'Gye Nyame', or 'Except God', which comes from a body of symbols created in present-day Ghana. The East African influence can be see in the various allusions to the holiday of Kwanzaa, which is based in the East African language of Swahili. By synthesizing cultural elements from opposite sides of the continent, I am attempting to promote a Pan-African interconnectedness between distinct communities of the diaspora.
On Fighting The Good Fight
200 years after a nuclear war has ravaged the American landscape, a charismatic and eccentric radio host going by the alias 'Three Dog' uses his station, Galaxy News Radio, to guide travelers through the irradiated ruins of Washington D.C. While the character of Three Dog is a supporting character in the 2008 video game Fallout 3, the story is completely original.
